New CVE version 2.5.3 is here!

A growing number of customers are now using multicore processors. CVE 2.5.3 automatically makes use of multiple cores if present to speed up the drawing. It also uses an improved drawing algorithm developed as part of a grant-funded research project.Together these improvements can reduce the drawing time for large datasets...

The New Methods for Alarm Rationalisation

Only when you recognise that false alarms are viewed as a fact of life, do you comprehend how serious the issue is. Operating under widened alarms not only has an impact upon control room safety but also significantly impacts production, resulting in financial burdens.

Geometric Process Control (GPC)

Geometric Process Control (GPC) is essentially a patented graphical technology which has been applied to the process industries to enable new levels of process control that were previously not achievable. Process engineers can directly leverage their process knowledge without mathematical intervention.

Webinars

For 2011 PPCL introduced monthly webinars so interested parties could find out more about our technology and its applications. So far the webinars have been a huge success and some have even been repeated due to popular demand! Each webinar aims to take a facet of GPC and show you how the technology works and what it can do for your process.

To date, the most popular webinars have been those covering our new research on new applications we have been developing and also software programs which have additional features your plant may have an interest in. So the question is, have you joined a webinar yet and if not what are you waiting for?

Details about the upcoming webinars are listed below:

April 2011
12th – 8am British time/12pm UTC+4/4pm SST
12th – 4pm British Time/5pm CET/11am ET
Audience: Non-Customers

The NEW Alarm Management Method
Operator alarms are the first line of defence for any plant. And yet there’s never been a practical way to find values for process alarm limits which also meet KPI’s. GPC provides a scientifically based and user friendly method to find alarm limits. This results in not only better alarm limits, but fewer false alarms and much tighter alarm limits resulting in improved economics from a better operating process. This webinar takes you through the how and why alarm rationalisation can be improved with PPCL software.

May 2011

Event Prediction Across the Process Industry
Our recent research project has lead us to uncovering how GPC technology provides a framework to capture the underlying geometric relationships between variables. Because of the wealth of data logged in modern systems, historical events can be easily explored and future events predicted before they occur. Today we use a real-life example to show how GPC technology has been successfully used to predict events many minutes in advance.
