Monthly Customer Webinars
For 2011 PPCL introduced monthly webinars as a service to our valued customers. So far the webinars have been a huge success and some have even been repeated due to popular demand! Each webinar aims to take a facet of GPC and show you how to best make use of the technology and incorporate it into daily life. They provide much needed educational support between PPCL training sessions at your workplace.
To date, the most popular webinars have been those covering tips and tricks on using new features of service releases. However, there are also a number of webinars which cover new applications we have been developing and also software programs which have additional features your plant may have an interest in. So the question is, have you joined a webinar yet and if not what are you waiting for?
Details about the upcoming webinars are listed below:

CVE Tailored for production reporting DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND THIS WEBINAR IS BEING REPEATED – This webinar introduces a third-party scripting program for automating report generation in CVE. With one click, CVE can be launched with defined queries, highlighting recent and best production, and full screenshots generated that can be dropped into any report. We go through setting up and automating a simple report and give ideas for further enhancements. In addition to this, we touch on automating data retrieval in Excel.

Alarm Management and Rationalisation There’s never been a practical way, in chemical engineering, to find values for process alarm limits. And yet operator alarms are the first line of defence for any plant. Our methods are scientifically based and are a very user friendly way to find alarm limits. This results in not only better alarm limits, but fewer false alarms and much tighter alarm limits resulting in improved economics from a better operating process. This tutorial takes you through the how and why alarm rationalisation can be improved with PPCL software.

Event Prediction GPC technology provides a framework to visualise and analyse historic data, capturing the underlying geometric relationships between variables. Because of the wealth of data logged in modern systems, operations and strategy surrounding historical events can be easily explored and future events predicted before they occur. Today we use a real-life example to show how GPC technology has been used to predict events many minutes in advance.
